Advertising through Northern Colorado Community Barter
When you join Northern Colorado Community Barter as a business or charity, you not only get to participate in a growing community currency and barter network, you also gain a new source of advertising and promotion.
In other words, your participation is great for your community and great for you.
Here’s how you can turn your NCCB membership into effective advertising.
Basic Business Members get a free listing in our print and online directory. When you first register, you will be automatically assigned a password which will allow you to edit your profile. You can include a description of your business that’s as long and thorough as you want. You can even insert your own photographs and embed YouTube videos (coming soon). Your online directory listing is more than just your contact information–it is almost like having a miniature website.
Your directory listing has its unique web address (or url), so you can share it with your friends and customers. You can link to your main website or Facebook page.
If you don’t yet have your own site, you can use your NCCB directory listing as your website. It even comes with a contact form your potential customers can use to ask you questions!
The NCCB print directory, also called the Barter Guide, contains a list of all participating business names and phone numbers in the back. We give the Barter Guide to everyone who purchases NCCB barter tokens for the first time.

Premium Business Members and all Partner Charities also get to contribute to the Northern Colorado Community Barter blog and event calendar. Any time you hold a special event, please post it to the calendar and/or write a blog post about it.
You can use the blog to highlight upcoming sales and events, feature products or share tips. For example, if you are an auto mechanic, you can offer some helpful tips on winterizing your vehicle. If your nonprofit organization is going to clean up a portion of the Poudre River, you can announce the event on the calendar and then write a blog post about how well it went.
There is no limit to the number of events and blog posts you can contribute, so please don’t be shy.
Premium Business Members get an ad in the printed Barter Guide and a rotating banner ad on most pages of the NCCB site. The rotating ads link to your directory listing and along with the print ads, provide yet another way to get your business in front of NCCB community members. If you already have those ads designed, great, we’ll be happy to use them. If you don’t, graphic design services for the ads are included.
We give the Barter Guide to everyone who buys barter tokens for the first time and we also use it in our own offline promotional efforts.
The NCCB website is already search engine optimized, and we the NCCB Team promote Northern Colorado Community Barter as a whole both on and offline. The site is there for you to use to share your events, news and interesting content with the entire Northern Colorado community.
